Highlights: Popcorn Park Zoo was established for the sole purpose of providing a refuge for wildlife that were sick, elderly, abandoned , abused, or injured, and which could no longer survive in its natural habitat. As time went on, they expanded to include exotic and domestic animals. Over 200 of these animals and birds now live in spacious surroundings in the heart of the scenic Pine Barrens in southern New Jersey.
You may be greeted at the gate by a gaggle of geese, but soon you will see a marvelous array of animals including African lions, tigers, mountain lions, a camel, emus, wallabies and more. Highlights: Another stop on the Wildlife Conservation Society tour is the Queens Zoo. Situated on approximately 5 acres, you can find more than 400 animals of over 70 species. The zoo has the feel of a national park and its perimeter is a pathway which walks you through various wild habitats found in both North and South America. Here you will find California sea lions, American bald eagles and bison, endangered spectacled bears, and mountain lions.
